Reflection 2

On January 16th, we will be the first group to present our presentation, because professor said that the content of our presentation is more authoritative and powerful, that we can drop a bomb as a start for that day. And Eva’s group will be the last of the series of presentations. The reason is that there issue is the most entertaining one, which can end all of the presentation with a fun and interesting ending.
Professor hoped us can design a game as warm-up at the beginning of our presentation, and the suggestion she gave us is guessing game, because our presentation includes many examples from different countries, we can let foreign students guess which the countries are by recognizing various national flags. However, we think of the situation that they might don’t know the pronunciation of the countries’ name, so we will put numbers or letters before each of the country’s name, and then they only need to read out the numbers or letters. And I will add a Korean example where our foreign student comes from, in order to make her feels that our presentation have a connection with her.
I will divide the content of my presentation into two parts. One is ethical restriction and the other is legal sanctions. The former will talk about why people cannot accept extramarital affairs, and then follow by what kind of hurt the abandoned partners and children need to suffer when affairs happen, also, I will highlight the importance of responsibility in marriage; the latter is going to discussing the punishment for adultery from different countries and the issue that whether the crime of adultery should be abolished or not. At the end, the conclusion will come to both of them are indispensable methods to decrease the widespread affairs.
We haven’t decided the ice-breaking question for the Q&A section. I think one of the questions Claire used in her last presentation might be suitable, that is “What adjectives will you think for adultery?”
Using charts on powerpoint receives positive feedback from audience, so I will preserve those I had used for previous presentation. After I read the peer response, I found out a suggestion said that our ppt was short of images or media, so I am going add some eye-catching pictures this time. Also, I need to have much eye contact with audience, which means that I should reduce the time of looking at my note and ppt, as a result, I think I have to rehearse at least three times to make sure that I will not forget the words I am going to say.
